Maria celebrates 10 years at Raine & Horne
WHETHER it is a humble abode or a grand estate overlooking the Monaro’s finest countryside, Maria Ragona has dedicated the last decade to helping people find and move into their dream home.
Last week Maria celebrated a decade as property manager at Raine & Horne in Cooma, a job she has embraced and thoroughly enjoyed as the years have past.
“Over the years I have become more confident in my role. I enjoy the challenge of meeting different types of people everyday,” Maria said.
“Since I started I’ve loved my job.”
Working alongside Don Menchin, Raine & Horne proprietor and sales manager, and Sue Pechotsch, administration, Maria said her passion for the role has allowed her to forge friendships with many of her clients who have been with her since she began at Raine & Horne back in 2005.
“I have tenants who have been with me over the duration of my time here. People come back to buy properties with me because of the relationship I have built up with them over the years,” Maria said.
“I love working for Don and with Sue. My role allows me to challenge myself through trying to get more people into rental properties."
Maria’s day centres on helping people find the right home to suits their lifestyle. She is tasked with bringing in potential landlords, new tenants and carries out routine property inspections.
Maria made the move to Cooma in December of 2004, deciding to leave behind the traffic jams and smog of Sydney for the quieter, crisper surrounds of the Snowy Mountains. It did not take long before she landed what would become her most cherished role at Raine & Horne, a job she envisages staying in for a further decade.
“I can see myself staying at Raine & Horne for another decade, unless I win the lotto,” Maria said with wry smile.
“When I started I knew I would be here for a long time as I am not one to change jobs. I spent 13 years managing supermarkets and a further seven years in medical centres and now 10 years here at Raine & Horne."
A decade ensuring the rental market has grown, has afforded Maria the opportunity to increase her skills and experience within the industry.
“Since I have been here the experience I have developed will assist me in continuing to manage properties into the future.”
“I would like to broaden my skill set into other areas including sales. I have built up a good portfolio over the years.”
Maria’s longevity has been underpinned by an enthusiasm and passion for a role she clearly loves.
